ART DIRECTION, EXHIBIT DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The University of Miami aimed to create a visually striking exhibit that highlighted its commitment to innovation and research excellence. Their participation in eMerge Americas is a testament to their ongoing dedication to showcasing cutting-edge technologies and advancements in various fields. As a partner in this journey, our role was to ensure that their vision translated into a cohesive and engaging exhibit that effectively communicated their brand identity and the diverse research projects on display.
Meeting Challenges Head-On
The design process presented its share of challenges. Delays in finalizing the list of research projects meant we had to create a flexible exhibit capable of accommodating a wide array of presentations. Additionally, integrating the central Monolith Kiosk with multiple monitors, lighting, and graphics while maintaining a unified aesthetic identity required careful planning and execution.
To meet these needs, I focused on several key elements:
- Immersive Design: I conceptualized a visually stunning exhibit centered around a massive suspended structure showcasing the iconic University of Miami “U” logo. Measuring 38 feet wide and 23 feet long, this dynamic centerpiece framed the exhibit space and created an inviting entry point for attendees.
- Engaging Narrative: Upon entering, visitors were greeted by a sleek reception table that echoed the rounded features of the University’s branding. This was positioned in front of a captivating video wall that showcased the diverse range of research and technologies, drawing visitors into the University’s narrative of innovation and exploration.
- Dynamic Showcases: Throughout the exhibit, custom kiosks illuminated with vibrant LED lighting in the University’s brand colors highlighted unique projects and initiatives led by students and research teams. This not only underscored the institution’s spirit of technological advancement but also engaged visitors with interactive displays that invited exploration.
The University of Miami’s exhibit at eMerge Americas 2024 successfully achieved its objectives, creating a powerful and memorable brand presence. The bold design, featuring the oversized suspended structure and dynamic video wall, captured attendees’ attention and generated buzz throughout the event.
In the fast-paced world of trade shows, standing out is not just about aesthetics; it’s about telling a story that resonates with visitors. I am thrilled to announce that our collaborative effort has been recognized with a prestigious MUSE Award in the Event – Trade Show category.
